New Plymouth Airport is proud to announce that Mātairangi has been recognised with the Community Engagement Award at the 2025 NZ Airports Awards, held on 7 October at the Omaka Aviation Museum in Blenheim. The event, supported by Beca, celebrated the year’s outstanding achievements in infrastructure, sustainability, community engagement, and technical innovation across New Zealand’s airport network.
“This was the toughest year yet for our judging panel, highlighting just how much exceptional work is going on across the airport network to deliver for their regions and communities,” said NZ Airports Chief Executive Billie Moore.
Receiving this award for Matairangi is a proud moment for our team and community. It’s been inspiring to see the positive response and interest from airports and visitors around the country. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to visit the lookout next time you’re at New Plymouth Airport and experience this special space for yourself.
